Pony.ai and Verne Kick Off Fully Driverless Robotaxi Test Rides in Zagreb

PR Newswire

  • Invited passengers can take fully driverless Robotaxi test rides along a 22-kilometer route, marking a European first
  • The move marks further progress under Pony.ai’s joint deployment model and advances its “dual-engine” growth strategy and commercialization roadmap in Europe

ZAGREB, Croatia, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Pony AI Inc. (“Pony.ai”) (NASDAQ: PONY; HKEX: 2026), a global leader in the large-scale commercialization of autonomous driving technology, and Verne today announced the start of fully driverless Robotaxi test rides with passengers on public roads in Zagreb, marking a European first. The milestone represents a significant step toward fully driverless commercial operations.

The test rides take place along a 22-kilometer route linking Verne’s headquarters and one of Zagreb’s main business districts with Franjo Tuđman Airport Zagreb. The fully driverless routes will be further expanded in the next few months, with the aim to cover the whole operating area in Zagreb.

The milestone comes just over five months after Pony.ai, Verne and Uber announced their partnership to launch Europe’s first commercial Robotaxi service. Under the joint deployment model, Pony.ai provides the autonomous driving technology, Verne leads the service operations, and Uber offers access to the service through its platform. Since the service operated by Verne was launched in early April, the fleet has logged more than 200,000 kilometers in operations, completed several thousand customer rides and achieved an average passenger rating of 4.7 out of 5.

Moving from commercial operations with an onboard AV operator to fully driverless testing represents an important step for both Pony.ai and Verne. It demonstrates Pony.ai’s ability to apply technology and operational experience from its fully driverless commercial services in China to real-world deployment in Europe, supported by Verne’s operational readiness and work to meet regulatory requirements.

“Fully driverless passenger rides in Zagreb mark an important step in Pony.ai’s international growth,” said Dr. James Peng, Founder and CEO of Pony.ai. “Together with Verne, we are demonstrating how Pony.ai’s Virtual Driver can combine with Verne’s local operating and passenger-service capabilities to support a scalable path to commercialization. The progress in Zagreb provides a strong foundation for expanding fully driverless mobility across Europe and other international markets.”

“Five months ago, we launched Europe’s first commercial Robotaxi service. We are now taking the next step, moving from autonomous driving with an onboard AV operator toward fully driverless operations,” said Marko Pejković, CEO of Verne. “This is a major milestone on the path to scaling autonomous mobility in Europe.”

The test rides use Pony.ai’s seventh-generation Robotaxi, powered by a Pony.ai-developed L4 domain controller built on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX, running on the safety-certified DriveOS operating system. The Robotaxi features a safety architecture combining 360-degree sensor coverage with multiple layers of redundancy and fail-operational capabilities. This architecture has been validated through fully driverless commercial operations in major Chinese cities across complex urban traffic and adverse weather conditions. Pony.ai currently operates fully driverless commercial services in four major Chinese cities and has logged more than 100 million kilometers in autonomous operations worldwide, including over 40 million kilometers in fully driverless mode.

The fully driverless rides in Zagreb are being conducted in accordance with applicable Croatian regulations and the approvals required for autonomous vehicle testing with passengers on public roads.

The milestone further advances Pony.ai’s “dual-engine” growth strategy, under which the company is scaling its Robotaxi business across both China and international markets. Overseas, Pony.ai is expanding through its joint deployment model, which brings together autonomous driving technology, access to rider demand and day-to-day fleet operations. The mix of partners can vary by market, allowing the model to adapt to local requirements while supporting a more capital-efficient path to scale. Recent partnerships have expanded Pony.ai’s overseas deployment pipeline to more than 4,000 Robotaxis, including plans with Uber to deploy more than 2,000 vehicles across Europe. Pony.ai is targeting a global fleet of more than 3,500 Robotaxis by the end of 2026, with operations spanning more than 20 cities worldwide.

Rackspace Joins NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program, Announces NVIDIA Blackwell-Powered AI Infrastructure for Regulated Enterprises and Governments

Rackspace combines NVIDIA accelerated computing, Palantir software and governed private cloud with Rackspace as the accountable operator from infrastructure through production

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rackspace Technology® (NASDAQ: RXT), a global enterprise AI infrastructure and solutions provider, today announced that it has joined the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program (NCP). The program deepens Rackspace’s ability to deliver and operate NVIDIA accelerated computing for regulated and sovereign enterprises.

The relationship advances Rackspace’s AI Cloud strategy, giving organizations the infrastructure and operational model to maintain control of their data, models and intelligence while putting AI into production. As enterprise AI becomes production infrastructure, organizations increasingly need an operator accountable not simply for the accelerated computing, but for running the complete environment continuously. Rackspace fills that role as the governed operator, bringing together NVIDIA accelerated computing with governed private and hybrid cloud, data, AI platforms and managed operations.

“Enterprise AI is becoming production infrastructure. At that point, the question is no longer simply who provides the GPU. It is who is accountable for operating the complete system,” said Gajen Kandiah, Chief Executive Officer, Rackspace Technology. “AI sovereignty is ultimately about control: control of your data, your models and the intelligence your organization creates. NVIDIA provides the accelerated computing foundation, and Rackspace brings the infrastructure, engineering and operations required to run it in production. For organizations where governance, sovereignty and uptime are non-negotiable, our role is to make that entire system work and remain accountable for the outcome.”

From Sovereign Architecture to Production Operations

Rackspace is putting this model into practice through its Institutional Sovereign Pod, a governed AI infrastructure architecture designed to give enterprises control over their data, models and AI environments while supporting the performance required for production workloads. The Pod will bring together the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture with Palantir Foundry and AIP in an environment Rackspace operates. Enterprises can use the pod to deploy AI at scale while maintaining sovereignty, security and operational control, including the Sovereign AI supply chain solution announced today by NVIDIA and Palantir. Rackspace provides forward deployed engineering and managed operations for the environment, helping customers move from deployment to production faster and reach value sooner.

“For AI to create value in the enterprise, organizations need more than access to compute. They need to connect their data, models and operations in an environment they can control,” said Sameer Kirtane, Head of US Commercial at Palantir. “Bringing Palantir Foundry and AIP together with NVIDIA accelerated computing and Rackspace’s managed infrastructure creates a foundation for organizations to move AI into production while maintaining the governance and sovereignty their most critical operations require.”

“AI is moving from experimentation to production, and enterprises and nations need full-stack AI factories that can operate continuously, securely and at scale,” said Raj Mirpuri, vice president of global AI clouds and infrastructure ecosystem at NVIDIA. “Together, NVIDIA and Rackspace can help more organizations put AI into production securely, efficiently and at scale, powered by NVIDIA AI Infrastructure.”

As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Rackspace will support NVIDIA technologies across all layers of the enterprise AI stack, with NCP competencies in Compute, Networking, Visualization and NVIDIA Enterprise Software. Method Security and Palantir Announce The Cardinal Program, Delivering Method’s Autonomous Cyber Systems via Palantir’s Ontology for Cybersecurity

NEW YORK & MIAMI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Today, Method Security and Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) announced the Cardinal Program, an initiative to strengthen national cyber resilience through safe, autonomous red teaming.

Cardinal will provide select municipalities, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators with opt-in, continuous autonomous security assessments at no cost.

These institutions protect the systems and services that underpin our way of life. They now face adversaries using increasingly capable AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities at unprecedented speed and scale.

Cardinal is our effort to close that gap. The program brings autonomous cyber systems, advanced AI, and expert operators together to support the teams protecting America’s essential infrastructure.

Method’s platform and security operators will map, probe, and safely test participating organizations’ internet-facing assets to identify attack paths. Frontier and open-weight models will power the assessments, helping defenders understand how attackers armed with the same capabilities might approach their systems. Palantir Foundry, AIP, and the Ontology for Cybersecurity will provide secure infrastructure for Method to integrate and deliver findings and support collaboration. AIP enables validation of repeatable, automated assessment workflows for these high-consequence missions, while the Ontology contextualizes findings in terms of real mission impact to focus response actions.

Assessments will emulate real-world adversary behavior, within scope and rules of engagement defined by participants. Safeguards and human oversight will be enforced to prevent disruption. Security experts will review the findings and provide adversary-informed hardening guidance. National cyber resilience will require urgent collaboration across industry and government. Our goal is to deliver capabilities to defenders now, while demonstrating a model that can scale. We hope Cardinal could give government agencies a proven technical vehicle to direct these capabilities toward systems within their mandates.

Attackers are putting these capabilities to work now. Defenders should not have to wait to do the same.

If your organization protects critical systems or public services, we want to hear from you.

This embrace of Stocktwits and the broader retail investor community follows FreeCast’s March 10th listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Since then the company has highlighted the role of the markets and the associated information environment that comes with the reporting and disclosure requirements of being a public company. Given the importance of integrating that financial perspective into the company’s overall story, FreeCast is making a deliberate effort to speak not only to traditional financial industry professionals, but also to retail investors.

Stocktwits users can now follow the company on the platform by adding FreeCast to their watchlist. Across Stocktwits and other social media channels, company news will be posted with the cashtag $CAST. Followers of the company will have breaking access to the company’s press releases and other key announcements, news coverage, and first-party research from FreeCast.

FreeCast CEO William Mobley discussed the company’s philosophy on investor relations: “We’re a B2B business, a middleware provider, so understanding the financial side of our business is a big piece of our story, more significant than for a lot of the consumer-facing streaming brands. The information environment, as a public company, thus has a huge impact, and we want to take advantage of that. For many firms, the IR function is just talking to Wall Street and finance guys. That’s not our approach, we want to make sure we’re reaching the investing public just as much, if not more so.”

NVIDIA and Palantir Bring Sovereign Intelligence to Critical Supply Chains

NVIDIA and Palantir Bring Sovereign Intelligence to Critical Supply Chains

News Summary:

  • Collaboration establishes an AI stack combining Palantir sovereign AI and custom NVIDIA Nemotron open models for complex supply chain operations.
  • The AI stack is first being deployed within NVIDIA’s supply chain to codify operational intelligence and accelerate the path from wafer to first token.
  • Organizations can optimize their own supply chains through the Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture running on cloud or on-premises infrastructure.

MIAMI & SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) today announced a collaboration to bring sovereign AI to critical supply chains, starting with NVIDIA’s own operations.

The deployment creates an AI stack that brings NVIDIA Nemotron™ open models into Palantir Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP), grounded in the Palantir Ontology, which aim to create unprecedented supply-chain visibility, identify constraints, continuously codify operational expertise and guide decisions at machine speed — maintaining the reliability and efficiency of NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure supply chain while retaining control and ownership of proprietary data.

The AI stack powering this work and its applications across industries will be showcased in depth at Palantir’s AIPCon 11. Organizations across complex industries — including agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, technology and governments — can use the AI stack to optimize their own unique supply chain operations.

NVIDIA operates one of the most complex supply chains, spanning millions of parts, thousands of suppliers and a global network of manufacturing partners. Bringing a rack-scale AI system to production requires the coordinated availability of compute, memory, networking, power, cooling and mechanical components. As demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, NVIDIA works closely with its ecosystem to secure supply for the 1.3 million parts in each NVIDIA Vera Rubin rack and scale AI infrastructure faster.

“NVIDIA has arguably the most valuable, intricate, and complex supply chain in the world. Our sovereign stack, powered by Nemotron models and Ontology, is delivering capabilities that exceed the frontier while providing alpha protection qualities unavailable otherwise,” said Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies. “We are very proud of our partnership and its cornerstone role in the sovereign AI revolution.”

“Supply chains are the operating system of the physical economy, and AI factories are among the most complex systems ever built,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “From wafers and components to manufacturing, systems and customer delivery, hundreds of companies and trillions of dollars of global economic activity come together to deliver AI infrastructure. NVIDIA and Palantir are transforming this vast operational graph into sovereign intelligence — combining NVIDIA Nemotron models with Palantir’s Ontology to reason, plan and orchestrate the journey from wafer to token.”

Open Models, Customized for Organization-Specific Decisions

Palantir customers can create their own supply chain AI stack by post-training NVIDIA Nemotron with their own data using Palantir Foundry and AIP. Within Palantir AIP, NVIDIA cuOpt™ software unlocks optimizations and scenario planning, enabling teams to model supply constraints, assess tradeoffs and understand the operational impact of allocation decisions. Post-trained NVIDIA Nemotron open models recommend actions, explain tradeoffs and flag emerging risks, while supply chain experts retain control of final decisions.

The new AI stack gives NVIDIA supply chain teams a shared command center to reduce time of ownership, beginning with materials allocation decisions that affect how quickly parts move through the supply chain. The system helps teams identify potential constraints earlier, evaluate alternatives more quickly and allocate materials based on end-to-end production impact.

Open models are central to this approach. Every organization’s value chain, supplier network, operating constraints and decision criteria are different; a general-purpose model cannot capture that unique context on its own. By customizing Nemotron open models with proprietary operational data, prepared and augmented using NVIDIA NeMo™ Data Libraries, enterprises can build AI that reflects how their business operates while retaining control over their models, data and deployment environment.

Each recommendation, planner action and production outcome strengthens the system. Integrated with NVIDIA NeMo AutoModel and NeMo RL, Palantir Autopilot operationalizes that feedback to support continued model improvement. This creates a governed learning loop that preserves operational knowledge, measures decisions against real-world results and improves the specialized AI models supporting the workflow.

Built for Sovereign, Enterprise-Scale Deployment

The companies plan to extend the learnings from NVIDIA’s deployment to help enterprises build more resilient, responsive and intelligent supply chains. Across manufacturing, energy, healthcare, automotive and aerospace, the approach can help turn fragmented operational data into faster, more resilient decisions while retaining control and ownership of proprietary data.

Given the sensitivity and criticality of NVIDIA’s supply chain, the deployment runs on NVIDIA reference architectures and the jointly developed Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture (SAIOS), which is supported by Dell Technologies and Cisco.

Every supply chain is different. This AI stack can be deployed on premises with leading system manufacturers including Cisco and Dell, or in the co-lo and cloud with Rackspace and Nebius — enabling organizations to run AI where their data, systems and operational requirements demand it.

WeRide, Uber and AVOMO Receive Spain’s First National Operating Permit for Level 4 Autonomous Passenger Vehicles

WeRide, Uber and AVOMO Receive Spain’s First National Operating Permit for Level 4 Autonomous Passenger Vehicles

  • The permit authorizes testing of WeRide’s GXR autonomous vehicles in Spain and marks the beginning of mapping in the region of Madrid ahead of their first joint launch in Europe.
  • This milestone marks the first national approval for WeRide’s autonomous GXR vehicle in the EU, paving the way for future vehicle certification and commercialization across the region.

MADRID–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD, HKEX: 0800), Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER), and AVOMO, the autonomous vehicle division of the Moove Cars Group, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Madrid, today announced that they have received Spain’s first national permit for Level 4 autonomous passenger vehicles to operate on public roads, by Spain’s Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) within the ES-AV framework. This authorization marks a major regulatory milestone toward the launch of Spain’s first commercial autonomous vehicle service.

As one of Europe’s largest urban mobility markets, Spain serves millions of residents and visitors each year. The Community of Madrid, with its strong commuting demand and mature ride-hailing ecosystem provide an ideal foundation for autonomous mobility services. This launch marks the beginning of WeRide and Uber’s joint entry into the Spanish market and represents the fourth of the 15 cities under the WeRide-Uber strategic partnership, with another 11 cities to come by 2030. Under this global partnership, WeRide and Uber plan to deploy tens of thousands of autonomous vehicles on public roads to bring safe and reliable autonomous mobility to riders around the globe.

Commercial operations in Spain are expected to begin by the end of 2026 following the completion of deployment preparations and the achievement of the necessary operational and regulatory milestones. This deployment further demonstrates WeRide’s asset-light operating strategy. By combining WeRide’s autonomous driving technology, Uber’s established mobility platform, and AVOMO’s fleet operations expertise, the partnership creates a scalable framework for autonomous ride-hailing deployment.

The permit allows WeRide, Uber, and AVOMO to begin deployment preparation activities such as mapping, route validation, and operational readiness testing, establishing the foundation for future commercial autonomous passenger transport services under the DGT ES-AV framework. The initial phase will deploy twenty vehicles equipped with WeRide’s latest autonomous driving technology, operating under the supervision of an in-car vehicle specialist, and will be deployed across various high-demand areas within the Greater Madrid region. As the first national approval for WeRide’s GXR autonomous vehicle in the EU, the permit creates a regulatory benchmark for future vehicle certification and commercialization across the region.

“Receiving this permit is a significant achievement for WeRide as it marks our ninth autonomous driving permit worldwide and a testament to our global leadership in commercializing autonomous vehicle services. The Madrid region is a key gateway for our European expansion, and together with partners like Uber and AVOMO, we are one step closer to bringing autonomous mobility to Spain before the end of 2026,” said Jennifer Li, CFO and Head of International at WeRide.

“This permit marks an important milestone in bringing autonomous mobility from planning into real-world deployment. The Madrid region is quickly establishing itself as one of Europe’s most forward-looking environments for autonomous mobility, and we’re excited to be working alongside our partners to help make that vision a reality,” said Sarfraz Maredia, Global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery at Uber.

“Every successful autonomous vehicle deployment begins long before the first commercial ride. Our experience managing autonomous fleets in the United States has shown that careful preparation, rigorous operational processes, and safety-first execution are the foundation for scaling these services,” said Manuel Puga, CEO of Moove Cars Group.

The service represents the first planned autonomous vehicle deployment by Uber and WeRide in Europe and is underpinned by Spain’s supportive regulatory approach to autonomous mobility under the DGT ES-AV framework. It is expected to establish an important foundation for the future deployment of autonomous transportation services across the country and the broader European market.
