RZR Pro R Platform Proves Its Power, Strength, and Control by Claiming All Top 10 UTV Pro Open Class Positions

MINNEAPOLIS
, March 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Though Polaris Off Road has had a long-standing presence at the race, this past Friday marked a historic moment as the RZR Factory Racing team made its debut at the prestigious Mint 400, entering the legendary event for the first time. Brock Heger once again delivered a commanding performance, not only dominating the UTV Pro Open class but also outpacing the entire field in the Limited race, securing the overall win among all four-wheeled vehicles. Continuing his remarkable winning streak—from Baja to Dakar to King of the Hammers—Heger once again proved why he is one of the most formidable competitors in off-road racing right now, conquering the grueling terrain in his RZR Pro R Factory.

Further showcasing Polaris’ dominance, RZR Racing drivers swept the top ten positions in the UTV Pro Open class and claimed four of the top overall spots in the Limited race. Heger’s teammate Cayden MacCachren delivered an impressive second-place finish, followed by Polaris-supported racer Mitch Guthrie in third and fellow RZR Factory Racing driver Max Eddy Jr. in fourth. The top four drivers all piloted RZR Pro R Factory machines, the same Polaris-engineered, race-ready platform made available for purchase at the end of January.

On race day, the starting order was determined by the previous day’s qualifying race, placing Heger second off the line when the green flag waved, while MacCachren started fifth, Guthrie in 7th, and Eddy in 15th. As has been the case in his previous races, Heger and co-driver Justin Wilson wasted no time pushing the RZR Pro R Factory to the front of the pack, taking the lead early in the first 95-mile lap of the four-lap competition. Heger was unstoppable, setting an incredible pace up front, even clocking a mind-blowing 118 mph across the dry lake bed portion of the course. Once out front, he continued to meticulously navigate the rugged Nevada desert, executing a flawless drive and leading wire-to-wire to the checkered flag. He crossed the finish line over seven minutes ahead of second place, further solidifying his dominance.

While Heger controlled the race from the front, fierce battles unfolded behind him among his Polaris teammates. By the end of lap one, MacCachren held fifth, while Eddy had charged through the field into sixth. As the race progressed over the 95-mile laps, Guthrie moved into second, followed by MacCachren in third and Eddy in fourth by the end of lap two. The battle for podium positions intensified, with MacCachren ultimately making the pass on Guthrie to secure second place, Guthrie landing third, Eddy taking fourth and Branden Sims rounding out the top five UTVs.

“The past few months have been pretty wild, so adding a Mint 400 win to the list is absolutely incredible,” said Heger. “Today went about as smoothly as it gets. The track was brutal, but we were able to get out front early and run without any issues. I can’t thank the Polaris team enough for building such an incredible machine—the RZR Pro R Factory continues to blow my mind every race. The power and control it delivers make tackling any terrain feel effortless. I also want to thank the entire SCi crew—our mechanics and support staff put in so much work to make this possible. Overall, it was a great day for Polaris, locking down the top ten in class.”

“It was another incredible day for Polaris and the RZR Pro R platform. At this point, five back-to-back victories with Brock almost feels surreal,” said Alex Scheuerell, RZR Factory Racing Technical Director. “This is a true testament to Brock’s skill and racing prowess, but also to the unmatched performance and capability of the RZR Pro R. Securing all top 10 positions in class and sweeping the top four overall spots, proves that this platform is built to dominate any terrain. It’s a reflection of the relentless dedication from our entire team and the innovation behind Polaris engineering. We’re looking forward to carrying this momentum into San Felipe next month.”

The RZR Factory Racing team has little time to rest as they shift focus to the 2025 SCORE season kickoff at the San Felipe 250, taking place April 2-6. With back-to-back UTV Pro Open Championships to defend, the team is eager to start the season strong and continue their winning momentum.
